Chemical Peels

Revitalize your Skin with the Best Chemical Peeling Therapy in Calgary

Dead skin, wrinkles, and dark spots are not only annoying but also hamper your confidence greatly. Chemical peel treatment provides the best solution to the problem. It involves an exfoliation technique that removes the dead layer of your skin to reveal the healthy, glowing layer underneath. At Body Repair, our skilled technicians offer the best chemical peeling therapy in Calgary. We follow the state-of-the-art procedure and dermatologists-approved chemical solutions to ensure the best results and faster recovery.

There are three depths of chemical peel treatment: light, medium, and deep. Our therapist will assess your skin condition and texture to determine the depth of chemical peel that would be appropriate for your skin type to avoid after effects.

The Procedure

The chemical peel treatment cures a wide range of skin issues, from acne and wrinkles to sunburns and hyperpigmentation. At our clinic, our therapists conduct a tailored procedure depending on your specific needs and skin texture. For instance, for sensitive skin, a lighter chemical peel treatment is the most suitable. On the other hand, people with rough skin require deep chemical peel treatment to get rid of dirt, rashes, and acne.

For Light Chemical Peel

During a light chemical peel therapy, your therapists typically apply a light chemical solution of salicylic or glycolic acid. This acidic chemical solution removes the dead skin of your face to render your skin soft, fresh, and glowing.

However, most clients experience a burning and tingling sensation due to the solution, but that normally goes away once it is removed. Our therapists are applying a neutralizing solution after removing the acidic solution to alleviate the discomfort. The procedure typically requires 15-30 minutes to complete.

Medium Chemical Peel

The medium chemical peel procedure is of 30-45 minute session. Technicians apply a chemical solution containing trichloroacetic acid. Sometimes this solution is also combined with glycolic acid. This brightens your skin and treats conditions, such as wrinkles, acne scars, sunburns, and so on. Your technicians would apply a cold compress to soothe the burning and tingling sensation. A topical numbing cream might also be applied before the procedure to avoid any discomfort. You will require multiple sessions to keep your skin smooth and in good shape.

Deep Chemical Peel

Deep chemical peel is a 90-minute procedure that requires you to take an intravenous fluid. Carbolic acid is applied to make your skin appear brighter. Since phenol exposure over a longer time is harmful for your skin, the procedure involves 6 intervals. The procedure is recommended only for those who suffer from extreme skin dryness and have a rough texture. However, as this is designed for deeper exfoliation, it does not require repeated sessions.

After Care

Our therapists provide detailed guidance after the procedure. Oftentimes over-the counter painkillers and ice compresses are recommended after medium and deep chemical peel treatment. Additionally, application of sun-protective ointments, regular cleaning, and moisturization are highly recommended. Our technicians offer regular follow-up sessions for continuous skin monitoring until your skin heals completely.
